"Following Their Trail"

Orange County Migration Conference

July 19 and 20, 2003 Hillsborough, N.C.

Sponsored by the Hillsborough Historical Society and the Orange County Historical Museum

For hundreds of years, innumerable feet have trod along paths moving west from central North Carolina. The Hillsborough Historical Society and the Orange County Historical Museum present a conference on the settling of America through Orange County, North Carolina. Join us on July 19 and 20, 2003, as we investigate why families uprooted themselves to make the arduous trek and follow them on their journey to new lands of settlement.

This two-day event will feature lectures on the major periods of migration and genealogy workshops to help find your ancestors' place in the great movement. In addition, we will present an opportunity to stand on the very roads on which countless wagons rolled west with a hike along the early roads of Orange County.

Pre-registration is required for this event due to limited space. For more information on this event or registration information contact the Orange County Historical Museum at (919) 732-2201 or email OCHM@mail.com.
