4th of July Weekend at River Park, in Downtown Hillsborough is the home of our Picnic in the Park event.

The concert is a collaboration with the Music Maker Relief Foundation which works to preserve the musical traditions of the South by directly supporting the musicians who make it, ensuring their voices will not be silenced by poverty and time

Festivities begin with a community reading of the Declaration of Independence, followed by live music. Set up their picnic blankets and get some lunch from one of the many food trucks around the park and enjoy an abundance of kids' activities and crafts, including colonial style games.

This is a FREE event and is open to the public! River Park is located at the Farmer's Market Pavilion at 144 East Margaret Lane. For more information contact the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough (919)732-7741.

*If your Hillsborough-based nonprofit or business is interested in setting up a booth at this event, please email matt@historichillsborough.org for an application.
